The LAST FREE UP EVER at Republic this Wednesday Nov 21st, 2012

After 5 years of Free Up celebrating Dancehall, Reggae and Soca at 2 different clubs we are sadly closing the doors on this legendary weekly party. Free Up first started at Shine Night Club where Neal Loud created the concept and promoted the party for 4 years. After stepping back from the promotions scene, Neal passed the party on to Free Up's DJs and the night moved to Republic where it has been for the past 8 months. Countless guest djs have selected for us as well as many artists having performed and we'd like to thank them and everyone of you who has ever come out and enjoyed the night with us.

The LAST episode of FREE UP goes down tomorrow at Republic and we would love for you to be there. The guestlist is already pakd but we can still hook you up so get at me quick if you would like to attend for FREE @djarems.

Iron Lyon Releases 2nd Music Video off From the Ground Up LP: Summer In the City

After releasing his album "From the Ground Up" this summer on Fat Beats Records, Iron Lyon has been keeping busy filming videos for key tracks and of course murdering the Miami club scene. The video for "Summer In the City" finds Lyon back in his old hood in NYC and will have you wishing it was summer again. Some super smooth laid back ish to cool out too. Iron Lyon Releases Sophmore LP - "From the Ground Up" on Fat Beats Records

If you didn't know by now, Iron Lyon is not only an ill DJ, he's also a seasoned dope MC. "From the Ground Up" is his second album following his "Time Capsule" LP and "The Foundation" EP. "From the Ground Up" just dropped yesterday on Fat Beats Records and I suggest you don't sleep! Lyon takes it back to smooth beats and well thought out lyrics bringing an ere of Golden Era Hip Hop that is greatly missed in much of today's rap scene. DJ Theory Becomes Faction Sound Crew's Newest Member

 

Long time homie and insanely talented Selector and Producer DJ Theory is finally a Faction Sound Crew member. We talked about it years ago but somehow it never came to fruition til last week. It's exciting to have a dood with this much skill and determination down with the crew. Hailing from San Francisco, Theory has visited Vancouver many times and has become close friends with the entire Faction Sound Crew over the years. His remixes have been featured on multiple Faction mixtapes in the past and we collaborated on a mixtape back in 2009 entitled "Van Francisco."

After my closing set on the Penthouse of NYC's Dream hotel tonight I head straight to JFK airport to board a plane to San Juan P.R.  This will mark the Faction Sound Crew's first jaunt to the Island and hopefully the first of many.  Monday catch I will be at Lunes w/ Dj Velcro and Sonic Relief and Tuesday catch me at the Nuyorican in San Juan.  Also I will be in the studio when im not djing so look for some huge remixes.  In the mean time check out this little Island vibes mix I threw together to get in the mood.
