Day 4 was built for sleep and a well needed day off for our crew but as true heads all know....."Sleep is the cousin of death". So we only take naps if they are deserved!

The Faction Sound Crew East Coast Take Over - Day 1

The Faction returns to the East Coast and the Take Over starts tonight in Guelph at Van Gogh's. DJ Arems is playing at a Soca Fete called midterm Cool Down 5 with Dj Illiment (T-Dot), Dj Sensi (T-Dot) & hosted by Sir Lancelot! Look for big chunes to be dropped all night and nuff dubplates.

This 5 City Take Over Tour sees DJ Tanner in Ottawa on Friday night, while Arems does a seperate party in Toronto for Friday. The Faction reunites like Votron to destroy two more nights together in Toronto on Saturday and Monday. The U.S. leg of the tour then begins with a night in Boston and two nights in NYC.

Here is something classic from the vaults for you guys today. This is a mash-up Tanner did a couple of years ago of the electro banger "Banger" by A.C. Slater and "Pop Lock and Drop It" by Huey. Although both jams are a little dated now no one knows either of them like this.

Brand new Dj Tanner remix of the Drake tune "Forever" available now for your listening pleasure. This one is an up-tempo version of the song that makes it a little more dancefloor friendly. Also Tanner cut out the Kanye verse cause its just not doing it for him (and us) like the other verses. Big up to Eminem for the craziest flow ever!!

Faction Sound Crew definitely came correct and rocked Gossip nightclub on our debut!! Dj Tanner started things offff with an energetic set around midnight, with Dj Arems killin it with his party rockin set......back and forth through the night all the dj's were insane!! Thank you to all our extended Fam for coming out and repping with Faction gear!! Big shouts to Gman & Rizk, Flip, Swing, Friktion, Brendon, Clark for the pics and all the ladies........yessir!

Janet - Rock Wit U (Arems Bmore Remix)

When Janet's last album Discipline came out I thought it wasn't bad but this track really stood out to me. I thought it would be a big tune for sure. I think if it would have come out in these days and times it would have been huge and probably remixed to death. Recently the homie Big Jacks mentioned Rock Wit U on Twitter as being a dope song and the responses to that comment were many. Everyone agreed. Anyways, back when it came out i threw some Bmore drums on it to make it hit a little harder. There's no big break downs or anything, it's pretty simple. After about the 2:30 mark i pretty much left it alone...no more change ups. If you're like me you'll have mixed out by then anyways.

Trey Songz Need a Rasklatt Remix

This track was kinda slept on as are most Trey Songz tracks but I think it got pretty big in parts of the states. Super dope end of the night jam that definitely deserved the Rasklatt treatment. Two versions, one on the Unmetered Taxi Riddim and one on the Johnny Too Bad Riddim. The accapella is a DIY so the vocals aren't as rich as they should be but they still sound prime. The Too Bad version has a little static on it from the original recording off the record but it kinda adds to it. Hope you enjoy em and as always, feel free to pass em around.

So it's been a while since Dj Arems released one of these but this one is fresh out the Fiyah. We are not a big fan of the new Fiddy song "Baby Bi Me" but it's a lot more playable on the new Ting A Ling Riddim plus Neo always sounds good. There are two versions of this here. This night is gonna be one you really shouldn't miss. Although The Faction's own Dj Arems has played at Big Up a couple of times for Stylus Award events, The Faction as a crew has never played at this infamous night and it's been a long time coming! As you probably know, Big Up has been voted Vancouver's best Hip Hop Night practically every year at the ClubVibe Awards. GMan and Rizk are one of Van City's biggest Club promoters with prestigious awards as well as many other accomplishments.
