Serani Live in Boston at Rumor alongside DJ's Jayceeoh and Arems

Back in early November The Faction went on a 5 city tour hitting up Guelph, Ottawa, Toronto, Boston and New York with multiple dates in Toronto and NYC. Definitely one of the livest nights on the tour was the stop in Boston at Rumor with Dj Jayceeoh and myself (Arems) on the wheelz and Serani hosting and performing. Lots of footage was taken on this tour but for now we leave you with Serani's performance in Boston and some views of the night at Rumor Night Club. The Faction Sound Crew East Coast Take Over - Day 1

The Faction returns to the East Coast and the Take Over starts tonight in Guelph at Van Gogh's. DJ Arems is playing at a Soca Fete called midterm Cool Down 5 with Dj Illiment (T-Dot), Dj Sensi (T-Dot) & hosted by Sir Lancelot! Look for big chunes to be dropped all night and nuff dubplates.

This 5 City Take Over Tour sees DJ Tanner in Ottawa on Friday night, while Arems does a seperate party in Toronto for Friday. The Faction reunites like Votron to destroy two more nights together in Toronto on Saturday and Monday. The U.S. leg of the tour then begins with a night in Boston and two nights in NYC.

When Janet's last album Discipline came out I thought it wasn't bad but this track really stood out to me. I thought it would be a big tune for sure. I think if it would have come out in these days and times it would have been huge and probably remixed to death. Recently the homie Big Jacks mentioned Rock Wit U on Twitter as being a dope song and the responses to that comment were many. Everyone agreed. Anyways, back when it came out i threw some Bmore drums on it to make it hit a little harder. There's no big break downs or anything, it's pretty simple. After about the 2:30 mark i pretty much left it alone...no more change ups. If you're like me you'll have mixed out by then anyways.

This track was kinda slept on as are most Trey Songz tracks but I think it got pretty big in parts of the states. Super dope end of the night jam that definitely deserved the Rasklatt treatment. Two versions, one on the Unmetered Taxi Riddim and one on the Johnny Too Bad Riddim. The accapella is a DIY so the vocals aren't as rich as they should be but they still sound prime. The Too Bad version has a little static on it from the original recording off the record but it kinda adds to it. Hope you enjoy em and as always, feel free to pass em around.

13 Years of Players Club - Come Celebrate!

I've been luck enough to be part of this night for over two years now and it's been a real pleasure. Players Club Saturdays has moved around to many different venues in it's 13 year run but it's still known as the only night in Vancouver where you'll hear nothing but the dopest Hip Hop, RnB, Crunk Sowf, Dancehall and Old School with not even the slightest hint of any Top 40. For those of you that know the history of Players Club, the first real venue where it took place was Club Elite. Canvas Lounge is the club that now occupies the same space where Club Elite used to be located.

This Saturday August 15th come join us as put on an amazing party for all of you loyal followers, at an upscale venue, with all the DJ's that have been holding down Players Club for the last few years.Canvas Lounge offers a VIP area with bottle service, and two rooms. In the first room will be DJ's Physik and Smooth, playing the hottest Hip-Hop, R&B, Crunk/Dirty South, Old Skool, and Classic Slow Jams. In the second room will be myself (DJ Arems) playing Dancehall/Soca/Reggae all night long.

Summer is in full swing and you can find The Faction all over the globe! With Dj Arems in Japan for the weekend, Tanner and I took an unforgettable road trip to the lakeside city of Vernon, BC. It was a Saturday Night and Club MoeJoe's - Vernon was in for some Faction destruction! We were lucky enough to be helping them celebrate their 1 year Anniversary as the official anniversary Party had went down on the Thursday night before we got there and featured Dj Cheapshot from the underground rap group Styles of Beyond.

The night was insane and MoeJoe's is no joke! The club features private rooms with stripper poles, 2 levels and a huge dance floor that rivals any big Vancity club. Tanner turned the party out from the moment he hit the decks and the crowd was buck-wildin all night. It was an unforgettable night and we look forward to rollin through Vernon again soon. Faction Sound Crew Featured in Utherverse's Virtual Vancouver

There's a lot of people out there that have been living a separate life on the internet as of late through social networking sites and virtual reality worlds. Utherverse has combined the two to create a Face Book like site where you can set up a page and virtual character that may or may not look like you and travel through different cities and worlds. So far Utherverse has 4 million registered users and is currently upgrading their servers to keep up with the demand. We were lucky enough to be asked to provide some music for some of the clubs in Utherverse's Virtual Vancouver and you can now hit the clubs virtualy from the comfort of your own home and STILL get down with The Faction. Two days later, after we've all fully recovered, the party starts again with a huge Beach BBQ going down on the grass by the last parking lot at Spanish Banks Beach. Faction Sound Crew's East Coast Weekend!

Damn! I know it's been a long ass time since we updated the blog but it's been an insane month and it's been hard to keep up. Thought we'd squeeze in one or two more before May ends tho. As many of you know, the 2009 Stylus DJ Awards are happening June 1st 2009 in Toronto and The Faction is in the T-Dot soaking up the festivities and playing some big parties as well. You're too late to catch us at Guverment as it went down last night (Friday May 29th) and was LARGE. Shout out to Ill Kidz, Wristpect, Hedspin, Pump, Starting From Scratch, Skratch Bastid and Jester who all did their thing. Tonight, if you are in Ontario, you've got a couple of options. Tanner will be playing at Lago in Ottawa with Kid SL for Glam Saturdays and you can catch Arems at Wet Bar/ Suite 106 in Toronto with DJ LRS. Faction 2009 Stylus Award Nominations - Thank YOU!

The Faction Sound Crew is very honored to be nominated again for multiple Stylus Awards this year. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us and lent us their support. Dj's Tanner and Arems have been on their grind from coast to coast playing 4 times with in the last year at the Guverment in Toronto (Canada's biggest club rated top 5 in North America), including during Caribana, in addition to various other Toronto clubs on adjacent nights and in various other Canadian cities such as Edmonton, Calgary and Ottawa. Touring has also taken them to the U.S., Asia and Europe and the Factions Mixtapes are spreading around the globe with each tour and, of course, through the internet.

Hard work, along with all of your support, seems to have paid off with The Faction's nomination for Canadian Club DJ's of the Year as well as DJ Arems nomination for 2009 Vancouver DJ of the Year. After being nominated in 3 categories last year, with DJ Arems taking home the 2008 Stylus Award for Vancouver DJ, and the first nomination we recieved in 2007 for mixtape DJ of the year, we are very thankfull to be nominated once again this year. DJ's Arems and Tanner are heading to the Stylus Awards May 28th to June 2nd to represent Vancouver to the fullest.

Before the awards go down though, G-Man and Rizk will be holding their annual Stylus Awards Nomination Party on May 9th at Gossip for Big Up. DJ's confirmed for the night are Arems, J-Swing and Hedspin as well as Big Up residents the Goodfellas and Flipout. Huge shout outs go to all the other Vancouver DJs nominated for an award this year including: Radio Mixshow DJ Of The Year- J-Swing & Flipout, Vancouver DJ of The Year- Hedspin, Jial 14, J-Swing, P-Luv & Relik, Underground Hip-Hop DJ of The Year-DJ Sage, Hall Of Fame 2009- Earl The Pearl.
