Aritzia hit me up recently asking for a mix they could play in their stores while the ladies got their shop in. Being that it's Spring and the flowers are starting to bloom already I put this mix together based on lusting after the opposite sex...mating season...Hahaaa. No slow jams just a lot of Dancehall, R&B, Hip-Hop and Ol Skool. Look out for a couple of new Rasklatt Remixes on there as well. Pump this in your ride and enjoy yo' self.
Here is a mixtape I put together to honor Valentines day this year. While not all the tunes on this mix are love songs they share the love vibe and are sure to get you moving as well. "Hearts on Fire" begins on a Indie tip (Breakbot), (Cut Copy) then moves into some more progressive stuff (Deadmau5), (Example), and concludes with some dubstep. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed making it.
2nd place Dj Tanner murdered shyt, it's that simple my people. This year the 2010 Van Red Bull 3 Style was another "Event of the Year" for our city. Tanner brought the rawkus with his flawless quick mix party set taking the crowd on a journey from beginning to end.
It's finally here. I started working on this mixtape in mid 2009 and would go back to it every now and then. By the end of the year i realized i'd left it a little too long so i got rid of a lot of riddims and kept only the best - making it a best of 2009 mix cd. I crammed as many tracks as I could but there are a couple riddims i didn't have time to fit in on the CD. Still, there are 80 tracks featuring 14 dubplates and 15 riddims plus many singles on this 80 minute mix.
FINALLY! The mixtape that i've been putting together for months now is DONE and being pressed up as we speak. 80 minutes of 2009's best dancehall music featuring 13 Faction Dubplates by the likes of Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Mr. Vegas, Mavado, Assassin, Beenie Man and others amongst the 80 tracks of strictly BOOM chunes! The CDs will be ready this Wednesday just in time for the CD release party at Free Up Wednesdays inside Shine Night Club. We'll be giving away 100 copies and it'll be the only place to get the cd for a little while until we post it right here (or you'll be able to cop one of us or at your favourite mixtape retailer).
Last year DJ Arems murdered it during his 2009 RedBull 3 Style set!! This year is all about DJ Tanner!! This Thursday, 8 of the best local DJs will throw down their best set to see "Who’s The Best Party Rocker in the 604!" Each DJ gets 15 minutes with the only criteria being that they mix at least 3 genres of music.

Here we have Alicia Keys' anthem to the broken hearted all Rass-ed up on the Seasons Riddim. It's in Key but the accapella is a Do It Yourself so it sounds a lil raspy. Still works super dope. One off parties are pretty much the best...always. This one will be no different with DJs Shortfuse and Arems teaming up with Prefect Entertainment to bring you Xmas Party you won't soon forget. Strictly big 90s tunes all night spun on 4 turntables and hosted by Kyprios. All proceed go to Vancouver's Food Bank so make sure to come out and support. What else you gonna do on a Monday...CAMAAAAAN.
